Spring is coming.

This transition is is very dramatic for the body, moving from light and cold to the eventual wet and warm of spring.
Being mindful about how what you eat, how you move, exercise, and how well you care for your body affects how you feel.
I have for noticed a shift going on, I noticed how I need to amp up my movement to build more heat in the body, beginning to up regulate my own detox pathways, through sweat, pranayama, hydrating and urinating regularly and keeping my bowels consistent.
This is a good time to be spending some time in a sauna or anything that promotes a good sweat,
A good measuring stick for understanding one’s health is the function of the three malas. These are your sweat, urine, and bowels.
When these avenues for waste are blocked they cause disruptions within all of the tissues, vayus, and therefore disrupting the mind. This is the psychophysiological, mind-body connection that yoga guides us to explore, it guides us into a place of inquiry so we can notice what is working for our highest good and what is not working. Daily yoga practice is one of the best ways to keep the metabolic waste moving, preventing stagnation through metabolic activation.
When there is disruption in the avenues of waste, mind-body disruption occur and cam manifest as any other these three forms of erroneous thoughts or beliefs.
Due to the metabolic activities being carried out on a constant basis, by-products are formed on a constant basis. If these malas are not formed on a regular basis, anabolism (constructive metabolism) and catabolism (destructive metabolism) are disrupted resulting the formation of malforming tissues.
Through the practice of yoga and application of Ayurvedic principles we can learn how to identify when erroneous beliefs and thoughts arise and in which area they are dominant. We have the understanding to pay attention to particular areas of our self to find where the disruption began and then how to facilitate proper healing through dinacharya.
